Sandra Sue Berg

Sandra Sue Berg, 75, a resident of Gulf Breeze, FL for 28 years, passed away Monday, November 14, peacefully at home. Sandra was born in Baldwin, NY on December 28, 1940. She attended Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, NY, where she was voted Miss Whitman in 1959. Sandra was married to Richard Charles Berg. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past April 2. She worked in the guidance department at Sachem School District and was a member St. John Lutheran Church in Sayville, NY while living in Holbrook, NY. After moving to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1988, she worked at the Plaza Office Building. She enjoyed travel, sewing, bunco, and being a part of Gulf Coast Friends.

She was a loving and caring mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and grandma. She lived for her family and loved nothing more than being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Walker, son, Ricky Berg, and brother, Stephen Walker. She is survived by her husband, Richard Berg, daughter Bonnie Scorzelli (Ron), Dawn Vose (Robert), son Brett Berg (Teresa); four granddaughters, Jordan Scorzelli, Isabella Vose, Charlotte Berg and Berkeley Berg; three grandsons, Shane Scorzelli, Bobby Vose and Hayden Berg.

Sandra was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. A celebration of life will be held at GBUMC on Thursday, December 1, from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Covenant Care for their loving and caring service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Richard & Sandra Berg Scholar Athlete Scholarship Endowment. Gifts can be directed to the UWF Foundation, 11000 University Pkwy., Pensacola, FL 32514 and designated to the Sandra Berg Scholarship.
