Etta Glascock was the sixth of seven children born to Stephen and Henry Etta Gentry Glascock (m. 12/05/1868) on the upper Mississippi River, in Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri. The siblings of Etta were:

Adeline G. Glascock Drake (1870-1918)
William Glascock (1872-1879)
Mary Lucy Glascock Tarleton (1875-1953)
Davilla Woodson Glascock Bryan (1877-1909)
Henry Hopson Glascock (1879-1956)
Kathryn Pledge Glascock Robinson (1886-1932)

Etta was baptized at the Mount Zion Church in November 1895. Her father Stephen Glascock was an officer of the church and a deacon there for many years. Etta later transferred her membership to Sapulpa, OK. on September 1, 1912 after marrying David Bowersock.

Etta Bowersock was married twice. She married Cecil Garrett of Hannibal, Missouri on June 12, 1907 at her parents' home in Miller Township, Missouri (near Hannibal). It was officiated by Mr. Garrett's father, the Rev. H.C. Garrett. (Hannibal Courier-Post June 3-4, 12, 1907; Palmyra Spectator June 1, 5, 1907). They moved to El Reno, Oklahoma in 1908 where their child Miryl Garrett Morris was born. Cecil died suddenly in April, 1908.
