CAMDEN – Funeral services for Bennie Gaskin, Jr., 90, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Fellowship Church with burial to follow in Mt. Elon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, S.C. The Bishop A.D. Givens will officiate.

Mr. Gaskin passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Born in Chesterfield County, S.C., he was a son of the late Benjamin Gaskin, Sr. and Sular Ponds Gaskin. Mr. Gaskin occasionally attended services at Edwards Chapel AME Zion Church. He enjoyed working on cars, blues music, and watching westerns and comedies.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ethel Lene King Gaskin; children, Ruth Crawford of Long Island, N.Y., Diane G. Robinson (Ronald) of Columbia, S.C. Henriette G. Lee (Edward) of Camden, S.C. Kimberly Chavis of Brooklyn, N.Y., Bennie Gaskin II of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Clarine Johnson, Dorinda Gaskin, Louise McClure, John Gaskin, and Margaret "Marty Gal" Gaskin.
