Roberta Bates of Spring Valley passed away on November 22, 2016, she was 73. She was born on October 4, 1943 to Robert and Olga Gonda in New York City. Roberta was a resident of Spring Valley since 1971 and previously lived in Monsey and Nanuet. She married her husband Larry in 1965 at St. Elizabeth's Church in New York City. She worked for Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski in New City as a District Office Manager for over 15 years. Roberta was also employed by Ken Torsoe as a secretary and treasurer for Normandy Village Condominium #2 in Nanuet for over 10 years.
Roberta is survived by her husband Larry, her sons, Larry Jr. and his wife Rose of West Nyack, and Brian of Spring Valley, and her daughter Janine of West Nyack. She is also survived by her sister Georganne McCabe of Cedarhurst, NY.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
