Evelyn A. Opperman, age 87, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at home Monday November 21, 2016.

The family will gather for a memorial for Evelyn on December 16, 2016.

Evelyn was born May 9, 1929 to Chris and Anna (Dorger) Landowski. She grew up in Stevens Point and attended McDill Elementary and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School. On May 31, 1947 she married Gilbert Opperman at St. Stephen's Church. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for Acorn Manufacturing until retiring after 25 years. After retirement, Evelyn volunteered at the Minocqua Historical Museum. Evelyn enjoyed being active and had many hobbies, including crochet, reading, walking, traveling, cooking, and loved spending summers in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Evelyn is survived by her 4 children: Thomas (Lu) Opperman, Daniel (Nelia Sanchez) Opperman, James Opperman (Beverly), and Patricia (Gregory) Viergutz. Her brother: Jerry (Phyllis) Landowski, Her Brother-in-law John Lewis, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert, daughter in law Beverly, sister Dorothy, and infant brother Robert.
