Retired owner of Bowman Hardware. Member Dewy Rose Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 yrs Dixie Mae Maxwell Ayers; brothers: Ira, Glen, Omer, & G. W. Ayers, Jr.; sisters: Anna Belle, Gladys Gaines, Ressie Mae Butler, Evelyn Hood, Hannah Ruth Myers. Funeral held June 18th at Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Marcengill officiating. Per obituary in Athens Banner-Herald.
