Mr. Charles T. “Pep” Pemberton, of Taunton, died Thursday, November 24 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn R. (Joubert) Pemberton. He was born 83 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late James and Louise (Wilson) Pemberton. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Charles had been employed as a custodian for Raytheon Corp. in Northboro for many years. He was previously employed at the former Crowley’s Lumber in Taunton for a number of years. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves: 3 sons: Steven Dutra and his wife, Debbie of Taunton, Kevin Dutra of Bridgewater, and Thomas Pemberton and his wife, Karen of Taunton; 2 daughters: Christine Eisner and her husband, David of Sharon, and Melissa Butler and her husband, Guy of Taunton; a daughter-in-law: Debra Dutra of Middleboro; 1 brother: James Pemberton of Taunton; 2 sisters: Doreen Lounsbury of No. Dighton, and Diane Wheeler and her husband, Al of E. Taunton, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charles was also the father of the late Michael Dutra, and the brother of the late Vincent Pemberton, Raymond Pemberton, and Phyllis Kozak.

Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, November 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will follow the Visiting Hours, Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
