a former judge and Missouri state representative of Jackson County. Native of North Carolina moving to the Lexington, Missouri area in 1817 before moving to the Independence area in 1820 as "one of the first pioneers of the county" later becoming "one of the first judges of the Jackson county court."

I met with the President of Six Mile Cemetery Association at the cemetery and learned by poking around with a rod that Judge Fristoe is not buried there. He died many years before the cemetery even existed. There is a space next to his wife which is why many people believe he is buried there. My research indicates he was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, but their older cemetery records were destroyed in a fire. If you ever discover any legitimate sources stating that he was buried in any cemetery, let me know. Fristoe's application for a VA headstone was rejected due to inadequate proof.
