US Congressman. During World War I, he served as captain in the Corps of Engineers, and moved to California when he was discharged. He opened a real estate and insurance business and was alternate delegate to Republican National Convention in 1936. In 1939 he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and to the eight succeeding Congresses, serving until his death.
