Karen Holliday, age 74, of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She is survived by her husband, John; children Barb (Cecil) Renshaw, Doug (Sherry) Holliday and Steve (Natalie) Holliday; seven grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Beverly) Holliday; a niece and several nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Henrikson; John's parents, Charles and Susie Holliday; a brother, Dean Henrikson and two sisters-in-law, Vicki Henrikson and Norma Holliday.

She was born on July 20, 1942 in Springfield, Illinois. Karen graduated from Athens High School in 1960. She married John Holliday on January 8, 1961 at the First Baptist Church of Petersburg by Rev. Ollie Phillips. After marrying, she and John spent the best eight years of their lives farming near Newmansville, Illinois. In the fall of 1968 they moved to Greenview where they continued farming until the present.

Karen was a farm wife who partnered with her husband for over fifty years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing her life with John. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and organ, and being actively involved with her church. Her hobbies included refinishing antique furniture, gardening and landscaping her yard.
