Roberto “Bob” Duran Jr., 68 of Mendota died November 21, 2016 surrounded by his family in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Monday in St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle with the Rev Jacob Valle officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in LaSalle. Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle.

Bob was born in Laredo, Texas on April 19, 1948 to Robert and Carmen (Lopez) Duran Sr. He married Frances Garza on February 6, 1970. He retired from Del Monte in Mendota. Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife Frances; three daughters, Connie Duran of LaSalle, Reyna D (David) Valdez of Aurora, and Veronica (Juan) Garcia of LaSalle; seven grandchildren, Esmeralda, Gisselle, Yadhira, Giovanni, Jorge, Valeria, and Alex; two brothers, Ricardo (Elsa) Duran and Raul (Chela) Duran; three sisters, Rosario (Jerry) Lopez, Rosalinda (Ramiro) Garza, and Rosaura Duran all of Laredo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents
