Martinez, GA – Melvin Earl Wells, 80, passed into his eternal rest on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

Melvin was born in 1936 and he was a devoted husband to Betty Wells for 62 years. He was also a loving father to his four girls and a doting grandfather to his five grandchildren. He was a dedicated family man who gave his family strength and love and who led by example. Melvin was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Melvidene Wells, Rita Ellison, Erlene Graham (James), and Kay Ramsey (Richard); grandchildren: Craig Johnson, April Macmanus, Amber Robinson, Ashlyne Ramsey, and Taylor Ramsey; and sisters: Betty Sue Fleming and Mary Ellen Boone.

The family would like to thank his church community for their thoughts and prayers. They would especially like to thank Tonya Dent for her love and devotion to his care this past year.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Pineview Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 119 Pleasant Home Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.
