1939-2016

Donald Keith Stephenson,77, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, in Giddings Residential and Rehabilitation Center, Giddings, Texas, from complications related to Acute Myloid Leukemia.
Don was born in Big Spring, Texas, August 18, 1939, to Coren Leon Stephenson and Frances Berdean (Rains), both of whom predeceased him. Don graduated from Midland High School, Midland, Texas, in 1957, and received a Bachelor of Business Admission degree from Texas Tech in 1964 majoring in the transportation field. He worked for several major trucking companies throughout the years, even venturing into the owner-operator field before retiring from Tri-Star Freight, Houston, Texas.
After his retirement, Don and his wife, Doris, moved to Caldwell, Texas, where he enjoyed woodworking, tending to his goats, his dog (Buster) and hard-working donkey (Sadie).
In addition to his wife, Doris (Martin), Don is survived by his four children from a previous marriage: Clinton Gregory Stephenson (Janice), Dallas, Texas; Geoffrey Leon Stephenson, Dallas, Texas; D'Lynne (Stephenson) Morin, San Antonio, Texas; and Glen Wayne Stephenson (D'Anne), McKinney, Texas; his step-children: James Martin, Jr. (Kim), Sugar Land, Texas and Dorsille (Martin) Morsy (Mike), Humble, Texas. Grandchildren Alex Stephenson, residing in Sweden; Travis Stephenson, Dallas, Texas; Michael Martin, Sugar Land, Texas. Don is also survived by his brothers, Rodney Stephenson and Ronald Leon Stephenson, both residing in Midland, Texas.
In addition to family, Don is remembered by his extended family, friends and co-workers throughout the years. Don was a member of the United Methodist Church and professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Viewing is scheduled at Allen Dave Funeral Home, 2103 Cypress Landing Drive, Houston, Texas, between 10:00-11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 26th, with graveside services to follow immediately at Rosewood Cemetery, 2602 South Houston Ave., Humble, Texas.
