Matthew Allan Hoffman, 23, of Westville, passed away at 2:14pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL.

He was born on January 26, 1993, the son of David A. Hoffman and Tammy {Leathers} Hoffman. His mother preceded him in death.

He is survived by: his father, David (Milissa) Hoffman of Westville; his step-brothers, Derek Peterson, Dustin Peterson, & James Woolwine; and his step-sisters, Shaley Hoffman and Carley Woolwine; and his special friend, Tiffany Trussell of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Sandra Hoffman-Miller; and his friends, Chance Kistler, Joey Doggett, & Alex McMahon.

Matthew was known to many as the “Gentle Giant”. He loved fishing, football, and hanging out with his friends. He also loved to watch NASCAR, play Monopoly, and build model cars. Whenever little kids were around, he would be their best playmate. His family and friends will remember him dearly and that he was only allowed “one solo-cup”. He cherished his family and friends and they will all miss his presence in their lives.
