THE SPRINGFIELD SUN, page 1, Thursday, March 20, 1930. J. D. PILE DIED SUNDAY EVENING. End Came Following Illness of Two Weeks of Pneumonia; Funeral At St. Dominic's at 9 O'clock Tuesday Morning.

James Dudley Pile, age seventy-two years, died at six o'clock Sunday evening at his home on Walnut Street of pneumonia following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services conducted by Rev. James J. Maloney, were held at two o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, of which he was a member, and interment followed the rites in St. Dominic's Cemetery near town.

Surviving Mr. Pile are his widow, Mrs. Susie Bond Pile, and five children by a former marriage. They are Mrs. Eddie Taylor, Mrs. Josie Beatty, and Mrs. Mary Cornelius, Louisville: Lee Pile, this city and Thomas Pile, Louisville. He also leaves three brothers, J. C. Pile, Bardstown, Edward and Thomas Pile, Monroe, Mo.and a half-brother, W. T. Beam, Valley Hill, this county.

The son of John and Elizabeth Pile, deceased was born and reared in the county. For many years he was engaged in farming in the Valley Hill section but for fifteen years had been making his home in this city. He was a member of the Springfield Council Knights of Columbus.
