Jerry J. McWilliams, 83, of Loves Park died Monday, May 23, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. The son of Victor and Florence McWilliams. Veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War in the South Pacific. Married Betty L. Townsend on January 9, 1954, in Rockford.

Survivors include, sons, Gary (Jody), Greg (Alice), Doug (Deborah), Brad (Laurie); daughter, Sheila (Juan); special furry child, Tobbie; special grandchildren, Neil and Jewel, Bryan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Gary, David, Lucas, Ashley, Cavan, Brett, Adam, Haley, Tyler and Autumn; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two nieces, Pam and Marla; and cousin, Lane.

Jerry was a carpenter for Local 792 and was employed by Stenstrom and Son.

Predeceased by parents; eight brothers and sisters; great-granddaughter, Courtney; and lifelong friend, Junior Cline.

Jerry was the "Rock" of our family and a loving husband to Betty and a hero to his children.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL
