Violet M. Logan, 87, of Merritt, died Sunday, February 12, 2006, at her residence. She was born October 6, 1918, in rural Scott County, the daughter of Robert and Elva Fernandes Reed. She married Ray Logan and he preceded her in death. She is survived by one niece and several great- nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola L. Rudisill, and one infant sister. Mrs. Logan was a seamstress for many years, working for Lukeman's, the Emporium, Myers Brothers, and Mr. Wes'. She had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Mrs. Logan enjoyed country and western music, and traveled to Patterson monthly to hear the music there. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
