Ruth had many hobbies, enjoyed writing poetry, and ventured into the cyber age when she learned to operate a computer at the age of 90 years.
Ruth was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Waterfall, joining in 1923.
At the time of her passing, Ruth was survived by two nieces, Peggy and Janet, one nephew, Charles, several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as her only cousin, Gillette. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Smith and Nellie Sinclair, and brothers Alton and Irvin Gossom.
