Nineteen miles from Idaho Falls in the town of Shelley, where a carnival was held people from nearby towns would attend. One of Donna's outings to the carnival, she met James (Jim) Adamson, whom she dated for a while. They would see each other on weekends when Jim would come pick her up to take her to the local dance hall. In 1946, Donna & Jim got married and soon afterward started their own family. They had 3 children, Brooks, Valerie and Kevin.

Donna has always been a hard worker. Right after graduation she worked as phone operator at the Bremerton Navy yard. During WWII, she was the operator who received the phone call of the President announcing that the war was over.

Donna always worked, but whenever she had the time she would practice her archery, and was very talented. She also enjoyed camping. Yellowstone was her favorite camping spot. Another favorite pastime of hers was having the grandkids over to make homemade grape juice, popsicles and suckers, which was always a fun time.
