Born Maria Addio (D'Addio) to parents Gabriele D'Addio and Teresa Morcaldi in Formicola (CE), Italy. Her father hailed from San Prisco and her mother from Cancello ed Arnone. They immigrated to the United States in 1898 aboard the S.S. Karamania. Her brother James was born in the United States in 1902.Her father owned the Dadio Farm at 466 Putnam Ave. in Hamden, Connecticut. The farm once sold produce at a farm stand. The property was recently acquired by the town to create the Hamden Industrial Park. Mary had eleven children with her husband James Iuliano (changed to Juliano) between 1915 and 1936, in both Ohio and Connecticut. They had their own farm near Wintergreen Ave. and Mansur Road. Mary was disowned by her parents. She rented above Gag's Pepper Pot on Dixwell Ave. at the time of its notorious fire in 1946.
