While in high school,Frank was already a Renaissance man. He was smart and very athletic;deep and funny,shy and bold. Everything he did,he did well.He played varsity baseball during his junior year and varsity football in high school.He was a member of the school track team.
After graduating from John Marshall High School,he attended Yankton College, Yankton,SD,where he was a track star.
Frank enlisted in the Marines June 1966.At one time he was a body guard to General Lewis Walt.
When he arrived in Vietnam he was assigned to HQ Company,4th Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
Frank received a Purple Heart October 1967 for face wounds suffered while on partol,during an attack at Con Thien. His cause of death as listed as an accident.It was unclear whether he was killed in an accident,or during an attack at Camp Carroll.
He served his country for one year and seven months.He was single.He was buried 9 March 1968.He was KIA#22,231.
He was survived by his parents;Frank & Concetta Capuano,a brother;Patrick and two sisters;Rosemary and Susan.
His father was a SSgt while serving in the Army during WWII.
