Mary Reeves Heard was originally buried in the Hawkins Family Cemetery. Mary's daughter, Henrietta Heard Daugherty Hawkins, was married to J. S. Hawkins; so when Mary died, she was buried in her son-in-law's family cemetery.

When Henrietta died, she was buried in the Hawkins Family Cemetery as well, but all the graves were moved to Resthaven Cemetery in Belton when the bodies were exhumed and moved as a result of the building of Lake Belton.

Note: Mary Reeves Heard is not buried in Fort Griffin Cemetery beside her husband, Wyatt T. Heard. Information provided by Tom Heard.
