Sally K. Ferguson - age 84, of Laurens, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Laurens, Iowa. Sally Kathleen Schuler was born October 6, 1927 in Marathon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Alta (Runyan) Schuler. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1945. On November 28, 1947, Sally married Marvin Ferguson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple settled near Laurens where they farmed and raised their family. Sally was a longtime member of the First Christian Church where she served as an officer for the CWF and she helped arrange flowers for funeral services for many years. She was a fifty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bridge with many friends, gardening, and was a wonderful cook. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren's activities. Survivors include Marvin, her husband of 64 years; son, Craig (Terry) Ferguson of Laurens; adopted daughter, Pam Ferguson of Ames; grandchildren, Brooke Ferguson of Fort Dodge and Chance Ferguson of Laurens; sisters, Marge Bussey of Laurens; Marian Kopf of Exira and Ruth Ransom of Waterloo. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lee, Clifford, Kenny, Dick, and Bill Schuler; sisters, Jean Graham and Barbara Grice and an infant daughter, Carla.
