PFC Ray Belton, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Whitsett, North Carolina.

PFC Ray Belton was a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee. PFC Belton served our country until January 5th, 1967 in Kontum, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Ray died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. PFC Belton is on panel 13E, line 115 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He's the son of Mr Emery Odell and Mrs Carrie Sue Williams Belton.

He served with Alpha Company, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division(AMBL), USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
