Professional Hockey Player. A native of Pembroke, Ontario, he played center and was the last surviving member of the 1938-1942 NHL Detroit Red Wings. Giesebrecht scored two overtime goals in the 1941 playoffs, though the Wings would ultimately lose to the Boston Bruins. The Second World War interrupted his pro career and he never returned to the NHL.
