Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: Mrs. Mary PRITCHETT died aged 29 years at 1925 Third Avenue [Columbus, Georgia] of "childbed" [= complications from childbirth]; buried 23 DEC 1895 in Section 2, Lot 1132 1/2 - Sexton Jesse Alec BEARD.
Daniel Olds' index of deaths, AUG 1890 to DEC 1918, from the Muscogee County Death Register, on file with the Muscogee County Health Department's Office of Vital Records, shows: Mary PRITCHETT, "White" female, died aged 30 years on 22 DEC 1895. [Despite appearances, this database is not proof that someone died in Muscogee County. Analysis indicates that the database includes information on persons who were buried at one of the Columbus municipal cemeteries, whether they died in Muscogee County or elsewhere, and usually excludes persons who died in Muscogee County but were buried at a site other than one of the Columbus municipal cemeteries.]
This grave is probably not identifiably marked. Also reported to be in Section 2, Lot 1132 1/2: J. W. MARTIN (buried 11 JUN 1901, aged 63 years) & Mrs. Martha MARTIN (buried 24 DEC 1908, aged 56 years). Note that Mary MARTIN married 02 DEC 1888 in Muscogee County, Georgia, to J. L. PRICHARD.
Probably her child: infant PRICHARD
