Earl Eugene Bainbridge, 87, died November 26, 2005, at his home in Tetonia.
He was born June 7, 1918, in Marysville, Idaho, the son of James Wesley Bainbridge and Mary Eugenia Strong Bainbridge. He went to school in Marysville and Richvale.
As a boy, his family moved to Teton Valley and settled in the Richvale area at the mouth of Dude Canyon.
On May 3, 1937, Earl married Juanita (Nita) Umphrey. They lived on the farm at Richvale until they built a home in Tetonia as their potato and grain farming increased and was spread across the Valley. They owned and developed Packsaddle Estates on the west side of the Valley. It was the first Subdivision in Teton Valley. He also started Targhee Town Subdivision.
Earl was a potato broker selling seed for other farmers to buyers in Idaho, Montana and Washington. He was a manager for over 6,000 acres of potatoes for Pete Taggares Seed Potato operation in La Grande, Oregon.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Earl enjoyed going to the Teton River in the evenings and fly-fishing, also fishing from a boat on a lake.
Survivors include his wife, Nita; children, Kay (Ronnie) Fullmer, Judie (Keith) Tonks, Rea Fullmer, Sharon (Raymond) Nethercott and Kellie (Glade) Hansen, all of Teton Valley; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; five sisters; a son, Dale Eugene Bainbridge; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Tetonia Second LDS Ward. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Cache-Clawson Cemetery near Tetonia, under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony.
