Delores N. Rogers, age at this writing, 85, of Sugar Grove, formerly of Batavia, IL, passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family, Wednesday evening, January 3, 2007.

She was born November 14, 1921 in Huron, SD, the daughter of Ivan and Augusta (Krushat) Danley. She was the oldest of nine children. Being the eldest, she also became the family caretaker and home maker "if there was a mouth to feed, she fed it; if someone needed a home, she opened hers".

When she was a teenager, the family moved to Rib Lake, WI. Where she graduated from Rib Lake High School with the class of 1939. She worked at Armor Meat Packing in Huron SD for a time, where she met her husband, H.L. Rogers.

She and Howard were married on July 25, 1942 and through the years that followed they made their home in South Dakota, Wisconsin, California and Chicago before settling in Batavia in 1959. While the kids were growing up she was active in both boy scouts and girl scouts. Countless and hilarious were her accounts of escapades with her kids and grandkids.

For nearly 20 years, she worked as a clerk at Mooseheart and for nearly a decade at Furnas Electric, both of Batavia

Everyone's "Nanny" & "Grandma", Delores was always ready to lend an ear, give a hug and to warm "body & soul" with a hearty meal. Delores had a great sense of humor and you could count on her to come up with a good joke.

She is survived by six loving children, Dennis (Corinne) Rogers of Arlington, WA, Gregory (Susan ) Rogers of Fitchburg, WI, William Rogers of Dixon, IL, Thomas (Theresa) Rogers of Tucson, AZ, Jeff (Diana) Rogers of Hinckley, IL and Peggy Rogers of Sugar Grove, IL; 10 grandchildren, (Gregory & Susan's family), Ryan (Becky) Rogers and Shelley (David) Bornstein, (Jeff & Diana's family), Steven Rogers, Ryan, Dylan and Jordan Grote, (Peggy's family): Bryan (Sarah) Banbury, Alysa Barry, (and the late James Roger's family), Quinn (Benjamin) Schultz, Gusti (Anthony) Darling; 10 great grandchildren,

Tori, Nicklaus, Jeffrey, Sam, Alex and Eli, Kali, Kyle, Kira, Charlie Banbury and a newborn great granddaughter (January 2, 2007), Eva Lynn Rogers; five siblings, Darlene Rogers of St. Charles, IL, Betty Yarocki of Villa Park, IL, Jack (JoAnne) Danley of Crystal Lake, IL, Ruth McDonald of North Aurora, IL, and Floyd (Charlotte "Lottie") Danley of Glen Ellyn, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; and two sons, James Howard Rogers and Scott Ivan Lester Rogers; three siblings, Alvin and Richard Danley and Phyllis Danley; three brothers-in-law, Dan Rogers (Darlene), Al Yarocki (Betty) and Robert McDonald (Ruth); and a sister-in-law, Marcella Danley (Richard).

Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, corner of Rt. 38 and LaFox Road, Campton Twp., IL. Friends may call at visitation from 9-11am at the church. Services will follow at 11:30am with the Rev. Philip Ressler officiating. Interment will conclude at River Hills Cemetery, Batavia. Comprehensive Care entrusted to Conley Funeral Service, Elburn, IL (630) 365-6414.
