Harry E. Artman Sr.

Harry Edward Artman Sr., 95, of Harrison, died Saturday (April 26, 2003) at his home.

Born Nov. 7, 1907, in New Kensington, he lived in Harrison since 1952.

A veteran, he served in World War II with the Army in the Philippines and was wounded in Okinawa.

Mr. Artman worked in the Bar Mill of Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge Works, before retiring in 1973 after 39 years.

He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, the Mora Club, Brackenridge, and was a driver with Meals on Wheels.

He enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Harry E. (Karen) Artman Jr. of Harrison; a daughter, Mrs. Pauline (Thomas) Wells of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Emma Myers Artman in 1998; his parents, Harry C. and Lillian Dougall Artman; two brothers, John and William Artman; and two sisters, Ruth Keener and Elizabeth Holmes.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert E. Andreen, retired pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
