Parents - Edward and Hazel (Read) Moffitt.

He grew up and was educated in the Dorset area.

Veteran - U.S. Navy aboard the USS Salem, a heavy cruiser patrolling the Mediterranean Sea from 1955 to 1957. Recectly he had the opportunity to travel to Quincy, Massachusetts, where the ship has been refurbished and serves as a museum.

Employed by Wm. E. Dailey Co. of Shaftsbury and Manchester as a concrete mixer driver until his retirement after 40 plus years. After he retired he worked as Rutland Herald delivery driver and landfill station attendant for the Town of Mount Tabor.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Hazel; stepsons; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and their spouses/friends; and seven step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; a brother and a sister

Predeceased by brothers Cyrus and Eugene and sisters Winifred, Ruth and Mary.
