Lower Burrell

John Usko, 81, of Lower Burrell, died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday (April 24, 2003) at John Heinz Veterans Administration Hospital, Aspinwall.

Born June 13, 1921, in Creighton, East Deer, he lived in Lower Burrell for 47 years.

An Army veteran, he served during World War II.

He worked for Harmar Coal Company for 20 years.

Mr. Usko was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Plum.

He enjoyed reading, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include his great niece with whom he lived, Natalie Clee of Lower Burrell, and his great-great-nephew, Mitchell Clee and great-great-niece, Kayla Clee.

Also surviving are numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Anna Dunay Usko; three brothers, Steve, Joe and Andy Yusko ; and three sisters, Mary Cobb, Rose Schreckengost, and Helen Korlicki.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, where a service is will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
