Helen M. Simon Lesney, 78, of Monroeville, formerly of Frazer, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday (April 22, 2003) at Manor Care Health Services in Monroeville.

Born Aug. 18, 1924, in Arnold, she lived there and in Frazer for many years before moving to Manor Care.

She was a 1943 graduate of Arnold High School.

For 10 years she worked at St. Barnabas Retirement Village in Gibsonia, Richland.

Mrs. Lesney was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Creighton, East Deer, and the church Ladies Guild.

She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and ceramics.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan Starkey of Beloit, Ohio, Mrs. Patricia (Richard) Kenny of Forest Hills, and Nancy Lesney of Long Beach, Calif.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Joseph, Stephanie and Sara Starkey, and Ashley Kenny.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lesney in 1979; her parents, Andrew and Mary Pastorek Simon; and two brothers, Andrew and Joseph Simon.

Friends are being received from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in the PAUL R. AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, East Deer, where parting prayers will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with her pastor, the Rev. Miroslaw Stelmaszczyk as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
