Deacon James I Mickens, 66, of Sarver, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on November 20, 2016 at his home.

Born October 20, 1950 in Hollywood, CA, he was the son of Carleton Cleveland Mickens and Dorothy Mulhern Mickens

Jim was self employed for over 30 years, providing after market auto accessories. He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. He was ordained at the Diocese of Phoenix, November 16, 2002 and Incardinated at the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 2013 and placed at Holy Sepulcher. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed Scripture study and travel.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Valance Mickens, whom he married October 14, 1995, 2 brothers, Carl Cleveland (Gail) Mickens, Jr. of Orlando, FL and John Carleton Mickens of Idaho.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Diane (Mickens) King

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 23 from 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016, 11:00 am at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, with Bishop David Zubik officiating.

Interment will follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation 2600 Fernbrook Lane, N. Suite 119 Minneapolis MN 55442-4752. www.ataxia.org.
