Goldie Lee Gilmore was born March 13, 1935 in Lee County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Melisie Baker. Goldie confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Malik A. Shabazz, where she served on the Mother's Board and a past member of the choir. Goldie retired from General motors, GMPT Flint V-8 Engine Plant UAW Local #659 on December 1, 1999 after 33 years of loyal and dedicated service. In her spare time she cooked for various restaurants around the city. Goldie was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family as well as anyone who loved to eat. She was an avid bowler and is a member of the Women's Bowling Associating (WBA) where she traveled to many states bowling in tournaments. She enjoyed family and friends gathering on Edwards Ave. where there was card playing, singing, dancing and of course laughter. Goldie was loved by many and will truly be missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing her. Above all she was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. Goldie was always willing to help out when needed to anyone no matter. Goldie was and is truly a phenomenal woman.

Ms. Goldie Lee Gilmore leaves to cherish her memory: long time companion, Ike McIntyre; 6 daughters, Essie McMillian, Charlean Perry, Deborah McGill, Teresa (James) Crenshaw, Valerie (Anthony) Robinson and Ruth Johnson; son, Donald L. (Pamela) Perry, Sr.; 2 adopted daughters, Debra Stitt and Lucy Borden, all of Flint; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends including very special friends, Lola Nelson and family, Hazel Cobb and family and Mildred Higgins. Ms. Gilmore was preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Perry; and parents, Charles and Melisie Baker.
