Now absent from the body, Rod is present with the Lord, in his eternal home (II Cor 5).

He was born May 23, 1965 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Drexel E. and June (Hinter) Wallace, and was graduated from River Valley High School, Marion, in 1983.

He attended Marietta College, and earned his degree in electrical engineering from Marion Technical College in 1987.

For the past 20 years, Rod was a much loved employee with Ohio Edison, promoted to Supervisor of the Mansfield Substation. He moved from Marion to Mansfield in 1995.

He was a member of Berean Baptist Church, and active in small groups.

Rod was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed his time out at the Clear Fork. As a hunter, he enjoyed deer season, and the challenges of going after squirrels.

Family focused, Rod took them camping to spend quality time. From the time his son played T-ball, until the time he was in high school, Rod coached his team. And from the time his daughter started playing ball, Rod was always her assistant coach. He was their number one fan.

Blessed with the spiritual gift of helps, Rod would do anything for those in his circle of influence. He was caring and interested in the needs of others. Rod leaves a legacy of faith. He will be remembered for his personal strength, never complaining, and perseverance.

He is survived by his wife M. Michelle (McCoy) Wallace, whom he married September 27, 1986, their son Benjamin E. Wallace, their daughter Emily R. Wallace; his parents of West Union, West Virginia; two brothers and sisters-in-law David C. and Ronda Wallace of Marion and Richard S. and
Jacqueline Wallace of Waldo; paternal grandmother Pauline Wallace and maternal grandmother Thelma Hinter both of West Union, West Virginia; his mother-in-law Kay McCoy of Marion; his father-in-law and his wife Don and Barbara McCoy of Columbus; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Matthew and Christine McCoy and Mark and Lisa McCoy all of Marion, Noelle and Nicholas Chaplick of Canton, Holly McCoy of Mount Vernon, Kyle McCoy of Marion; a large circle of friends including Gary and Ruth Craft of Marion, Jeff and Annette Rush of Mansfield and Todd and Sheryl Lehnhart of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Rod was preceded in death by his grandfathers Ernest Hinter and Drexel E. Wallace, I.
