Mother of Beverly Parker, Julie Johnson, Rodney Johnson, and Theodore Johnson, Jr.

She was educated in Charleston, South Carolina and attended Oakville Elementary School and graduated from Burke High School in 1950.

Seeking to improve herself, she enlisted in the Army on December 15, 1950. While in the military, Mrs. Johnson successfully completed the Medical Technician Procedure course given at Brook Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston on April 14, 1951. She was honorably discharged on February 9, 1952.

Mrs. Johnson met her husband, Mr. Theodore A. Johnson at Madison Army Hospital, Fort Lewis, Washington in the summer of 1951. They were wed on October 12, 1951 in Tacoma, Washington.

Mrs. Johnson began her service with the Federal Government on October 19, 1953 at Perry Point VA Medical Center. She resigned that position on March 11, 1958. On February 1, 1960, she was reinstated at Kirk Army Hospital at Aberdeen Proving Ground and continued there until August 26, 1974 when she transferred back to Perry Point VA Medical Center.

Mrs. Johnson became a Licensed Practical Nurse on June 7, 1968 and continued her career until she retired January, 1990 after 35 years of distinguished service. During her tenure with the Federal Government, she was the recipient of numerous awards for superior and outstanding performance.

Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Mt. Missionary Zion Baptist Church. She sang on the church choir and supplied many cakes for numerous church functions. She supported her church and purchased a window for the Church Outreach Building.
