Inez was the daughter of Swedish immigrants, Claes Albert Carleen and Beda Helena Nilsdotter. Married William Luther Hoyle, 15 Jan 1939, Axtell, Marshall Co., Kansas. Mother of Marjorie Ann and Marie Allene Hoyle.

Inez Ruthmarye Carleen Hoyle, 77, of Irving, died Tuesday at her residence [sic, daughter's].

Born in Marshall County, Kansas, she was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and North Texas State University and a schoolteacher in the Dallas Independent School District from 1949 until her retirement in 1980. She was selected as Teacher of the Year in Dallas in 1975.

A 45-year resident of Irving, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Irving, the Texas State Teachers Association, the National Education Association, Classroom Teachers of Dallas, Delta Kappa Gamma Society--Delta Tau chapter in Dallas, the Order of Eastern Star, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, the Toastmistresses, the American Business Women's Association, the Carl XVI Gustaf Lodge in Dallas, the Vasa Order of America, and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Leonard McCown of Irving; a brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Mildred Carleen of Beattie, Kan.; a granddaughter, Kristi Karleen McCown of Irving; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Irving, with the Rev. Henry H. Kinkeade officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Ben F. Brown Funeral Home.
