Larry G. Armon left this life on January 2, 2007, having fought a brave battle against multiple myeloma cancer and staph infection, resulting in sepsis. Larry was born on March 31, 1939, at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, to Theodore and Alma Inez (Parrack) Armon. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, June, their daughter, Andrea and her husband, Doug Stapp, their son, Caleb, of Lubbock TX; their son, Steven Scott Armon and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Katherina Leighton of Denver, Broc Leighton, Liam Armon from Garland TX. His two brothers, Lowell Armon of West Palm Beach FL, and Allen Armon and his wife, Ruth, of Virginia City NV also survive. He is also survived by two nephews, Keith and Brett Armon, and a great number of friends and former co-workers. Larry graduated from Wurzburg America High School and the University of Phoenix. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1961 and was stationed at Biloxi AFB, MS, Lincoln AFB, NE, and Lajes Field, Azore Islands. After being discharged from the Air Force, he was employed by Philco Ford at NASA, transferring to Colorado Springs in 1974. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2002 after being a computer lab manager for several years. Larry was an avid bowler, and was active in several leagues around Colorado Springs. He would help anyone with their bowling problems anytime he was asked. He was fun-loving and loved to tell stories about experiences along his life path. He loved playing with his grandsons and chasing them all over the house when they visited. He was a loving and generous husband, father and friend. His abscence in our lives will leave a gaping hole in our hearts that will not soon heal. He will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service and Celebation of his Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 5, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. If you wish to say a few words about your memories of Larry, please come prepared. In lieu of flowers, please support the charity of your choice.
