Elizabeth “Liz” “Almeta” Barr, 66, of Lafayette, passed away at 3:15 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her residence.
Born August 10, 1950 in Macon, GA, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Evelyn (Smith) Renfroe.
Her marriage of 27 years was to Jesse Barr. He survives.
Elizabeth worked as a supervisor for the dietary department of St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Southern Stars in Georgia, and a lifetime member of the NAACP. She was a great cook and loved knitting and quilting. Elizabeth was loving, calm, and even keeled. She provided stability for many others.
Surviving with her husband, Jesse Barr, are her four children, Andre Bell (wife: Jan) of Monticello, Reginald Bell of Lafayette, Gwen Hare of Texas, and Andre Gildhorn of Germany; four siblings, Frank Renfroe (wife: Jaletta), Jean Renfroe, Ernest Renfroe, and Patrick Renfroe; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her special close friend, Lucy Sutton; her loving Bichon, Trudy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Preceding her in death with her parents are eleven siblings.
