Lyman Delbert Ryor, 85, of Albany died Friday in Salem of natural causes.

He was born in Boyne City, Mich., to Charles and Mae Ryor. He was one of 10 children.

He was raised in Niles, Mich., and graduated from Niles High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the North African and European Theaters. He received several service medals with three bronze battle stars, American service medal, World War II victory and good conduct medals.

After the war, he worked for a brief time as a milkman and as a short haul truck driver for 30 years in California. He lived the remainder of his years in Albany near his daughter, Sandra.

He is survived by his brother, Norman Ryor of Longview, Wash.; daughter Sandra Nunn of Albany; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. He will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Alice Artema Ryor, and son, Dr. Robert G. Ryor.
