SAN JOSE, June 2nd - Henry Roseblade committed suicide today by blowing the top of his head off with a Winchester rifle. The cause of the act was despondency and ill health. He was a native of England, aged 42, and leaves a wife and three small children in destitute circumstances. Before the deed he went into the house, kissed one of the children and said: "Goodbye, Jim, I am going on a long journey." He went out to a shed, and in a few minutes the report of a gun was heard.

Deceased served in the federal army during the war and has a most excellent record. He was buried by the G.A.R., although not a member of that organization.
