Parents, John Watson and Elizabeth James Watson. Military, S-Sgt. US Army Air Corp, POW/MIA. Survived by daughters, Cindy Rodenberger, Tracey Velong (Tony), Missy Rhodes (Rick) and Terri Alford; grandchildren, Jana Hofferle, Debbie Moore, Chad Velong, Alex Velong, Bekka Velong, Ellie Velong; great-grandchildren, Jessica Moore and Julia Moore. Predeceased by wife, Mary Louise Coy Watson and son, John Jeffrey Watson. Military services will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg at a future date.

While serving as the Engineer/Top Turret Gunner of a B-24H in the 487th Bomb Group, S/Sgt John P Watson was shot down over occupied France on May 11, 1944. He was able to bail out of his stricken aircraft but was taken prisoner by German forces and remained a Prisoner of War for the remainder of the war.
