Dorothy Marie Danielsen was born on October 9, 1935, the daughter of Cornelius and Margaret (Stauffer) Danielsen. Following her high school graduation, she was united in marriage to Jerry Aye in August of 1955. He preceded her in death in 1992. She later married Richard Arnold in October of 1993. He preceded her in death in 2009. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for the Salvation Army and ARC for 28 years prior to her retirement in 2003. She was a member of Stephen Ministries and Edgewood Baptist Church. For many years, she was a devoted caretaker of her dear friend and fellow church member, Esther Olmstead. Dorothy enjoyed socializing and dining out with her family and friends, reading and watching Dr. David Jeremiah and Dr. Stanley on television.
She is survived by her two daughters: Terri Lynn Dee of Davenport, and Cheryl Marsden of Holiday, FL; three sisters: Frances (John) Harris of Alabaster, AL, Shirley Weber of Eldridge, IA, and Judy (Bill) Collier of Blue Grass, IA; two brothers: Larry Danielsen of Davenport, and Jack Danielsen of Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a special friend: Barbara Hoon of Davenport.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred “Sonny”, and a great-grandson, Tyler.
Memorials may be directed to Edgewood Baptist Church or to the family.
