Lois Lucille Baril, 86, of Lincoln, passed away at her granddaughter's home in Helena, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2006.

Lois was born in Marion, Iowa, on June 28, 1920, to Edgar and Martha (Buckles) Engles. Lois and Wesley Baril were married in Dillon on July 8, 1937.

Throughout Lois' career she worked at various places, spending the longest time at the Blue Anchor in Twin Bridges. She also worked for the 4B's Restaurant in Deer Lodge and the Ritzville Memorial Hospital in Ritzville, Wash.

Lois' world was greatly diminished by macular degeneration, but she was able to enjoy TV, listening to music and visiting with family and friends.

She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Jane Engles Powers and Edgar Engles; her husband, Wesley; and sister, Ada.

She is survived by her children, Loren (Terri) Baril of Helena, Muriel (Don) Swager of Hermiston, Ore., Linda (Roger) Marshall of Pasco, Wash., Nina (Woody) Hiatt of Lincoln; sister, Phyllis Winchell of Sheridan; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering in celebration of Lois' life will be held in the spring. Retz Funeral Home in Helena assisted the family with their arrangements.
