Phyllis M. Myers, 83, of Grand Island died unexpectedly Thursday, April 5, 2018, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Peace Lutheran Church, with lunch immediately following the service. Pastor Michael E. Reiners will officiate. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery, with a 2:30 p.m. committal service. Refreshments will be served following the committal service at the Litchfield Community Center.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Phyllis was born May 7, 1934, in Litchfield. She was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Obermiller) Kieborz.

Phyllis grew up in Litchfield, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1951. She continued her education at Grand Island School of Beauty, completing her degree in 1953. She was a hairstylist in Grand Island for 64 years. Her clients were much more than customers; they were friends.

She married William “Bill” D. Myers on April 6, 1958, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. They lived in Grand Island, where they raised their children. Bill died July 11, 2008.

Phyllis loved tending to her flowers, gardening and canning. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and Shalom Society, Grace Lutheran Couples Club, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Survivors of her immediate family include her daughter, Karla Edwards of Hendersonville, N.C.; a son, Brian Myers of Denver, Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm and Janice Kieborz of Omaha; a sister, Carolyn Jensen of Cordova; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Ehlers of Bradshaw. Others left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren, Shayla Edwards and her husband, Tom Brogan, Spencer Edwards, Sean Edwards and Shelby Edwards; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Tony and Ronda Siebe and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a son, Timothy Allen; and in-laws and their spouses, Leonard Myers, James Myers, Rodney Myers, Martha Morris, Erma Lampe and Bob Ehlers.
