Kenneth Wayne Griggs, 75, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Kenneth was born in Boggy Depot, OK, on June 22, 1941. He then moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he grew up with four brothers and two sisters.

As a young man he had many adventures exploring the country. He excelled as he learned the trade of carpet cleaning, he then began to install carpet. Soon after that he opened his own business, now Griggs Carpet Inc., in 1963.

He married Bonnie Faye, on June 19, who preceded him in death.

Kenneth enjoyed boating, fishing and building birdhouses, but most of all he treasured spending time with his family.

Kenneth was also preceded in death by his son, Robby Wayne; mother, Susie; sister, Peggy Mapp Scott; and brother, Jimmy.

Kenneth is lovingly remembered by his son, Kenny and his wife, Kecia; and two grandchildren, Austin and wife, Jessica, and Holli and husband, Steven Smallwood. He took great pride in his three great-grandchildren Ava, Degan and Emma. He is also survived by his siblings, Tommy, Larry, Al and Sherry Taylor.
