Age 77, died Saturday morning August 16, 2014 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 15, 1937 in Morgantown, W. Virginia to Rex and Virginia (Moyer) Brand. On August 20, 1955 she married Garrett Jarvis and he survives.
Barbara and Garrett moved to the Milan area in 1966 and she worked for the University of Michigan in the payroll department until she retired in 1996.
Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters; Debra (Harvey) Thacker of Brownstown, Leah Riley of Milan and Jennifer (Terry) Himich of Milan, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother John (Marsha) Brand of Morgantown, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan on Monday from 5-8pm. where services will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00am. with Rev. Thomas Schroeder of Christ Our King Lutheran Church, officiating. Entombment will follow at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
