Arvilla Eva Hillman, 87, passed from our lives on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.

Arvilla was born on December 22, 1919, in Milwaukee to Frank and Delia (Nelson) Miller. Their family moved to Eau Claire in 1921. Arvilla graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1937. Arvilla and Jesse G. Hillman were married in Eau Claire in 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Jess"; her eldest son, Jon; and her sister, Delores.

Arvilla is survived by two sons, David (Shirley) Hillman of Eau Claire and Richard (Jackie) Hillman of Fairview Heights, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Susan Hillman of Eau Claire; and former daughter-in-law, Susan Klein of Eau Claire. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

"Arv" and "Jess" loved fishing and hunting and, for over 50 years, enjoyed their second home on Staples Lake near Cumberland. They had many friends there and enjoyed visits from relatives and friends at "The Lake." A private service will be held at a later date.
