Geraldine R. (Purdie) Hall-Daniels, age 83 passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 surrounded by her family, singing some of her favorite gospel songs.

Known by so many as "Miss Gerry," she was born on October 21, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan. She moved to Panama City with her young family in 1954. Miss Gerry was a very special lady. She faithfully and joyously worked as a nursery and children's director for Springfield United Methodist Church , Callaway United Methodist Church, and Living Word Fellowship. She directed several adult and children's choirs as well. Also, Miss Gerry loved to dance. She never missed a chance to dance with her daughters and grandchildren. She had a step and style that was all her own. The love and smile she had for her family, friends, children, and her pets will be truly missed.

Survivors include her five children: Nancy (Gus)Wise, Connie Newton, Bud (JoAnn) Hall, Marie (Paul) Tappenden, Pam (Mike) Nesmith - all from Panama City; her twin brother: Jerry Purdie of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miss Gerry was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of three of her children: Jarold (Jerry) Hall; her second husband and the father of two of her children: W.C. Daniels; her parents, Charles and Blanche Purdie; her brothers, Chuck and Bill Purdie; and sister, Lois Clark.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons are honored to be her pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Health and Covenant Hospice for their commitment in giving Miss Gerry the wonderful care she deserved.
