Walter Kenneth (Ken) Day, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. He was born December 19, 1925 in Lowell, Massachusetts, son of Albert Day and Florence White Day. He attended schools in Foxboro, Massachusetts, and was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps. He and his wife, Sarah Day, owned and managed Tanglewood Lodge Motel and Restaurant in Shreveport, Louisiana for many years. Ken also repaired camera equipment for many Shreveport residents and professional photographers at his business, Day’s Camera Service. He was a member of the Rotary Club for over 30 years and served as club president and district governor in Shreveport. Ken and Sarah retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where they enjoyed many years with good friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Sarah Schaub Day, a brother, Robert Day, and a sister, Virginia Symmes. He is survived by daughters Becky Brooks and husband Calvin, and Kate Young and husband David, brother Raymond Day, grandchildren Amanda Hicks, David Brooks, Tricia Welch, and Robert Brooks, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild. A graveside memorial service will be held November 26, 2016 at Forest Park West in Shreveport.
